Artist Bio
Sydney Gruber is a visual storyteller expressing the incandescent pulse of life in color through focal point paintings. Exploring the edges of herself, she creates frontiers of freedom on canvas by interpreting the rich inner landscapes of her mind. Sydney's art reveals a quest for self-identity and a celebration of experience. A lifelong chess player, Sydney’s signature line of internationally selling chess sets offer complementary contrast to her body of abstract work. Balancing reason with passion, she has a poet’s tongue and a trucker’s soul. When she’s not painting on location in her custom traveling showroom, Sydney is seeking the nectar of life and working steadily in Austin, TX. Artist Statement
My name is Sydney Gruber, and I have creative hands with an entrepreneur’s spirit. I create focal point paintings that draw people towards the pulse of life in color. My art is an invitation to a world of raw energy as well as my way of relating to the world. I like to play the role of interpreter. I strive to match reason with passion and oscillate between living in austerity and sucking the nectar out of life. Art is my alchemy—in one medium or another, I am seeking Sydney Gruber and the connection to something more. In seeking myself, I have found all of you.
