Tuscaloosa + Northport | NEWS for Summer 2018!
I am very excited to be able to finally announce the Summer Camps I'll be leading this year hosted by Kentuck Art Center.
Session 1 | May 29 - 1
Session 2 | June 4 -7
Session 3 |June 11 - 14
Session 4 | June 18 - 21
All camp sessions will run from 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
After a successful run last summer, Imagination & Enrichment is back this year with a whole new curriculum designed as an exploration of artistic mediums through self-expression. Kentuck currently offers four sessions with early bird enrollment specials.
The camp acts as an introduction to art education with a stimulating cognitive component to empower the youngest artists in our community and help develop their artistic voice. The kids will even have their art on display and be featured artists in their own gallery exhibition, "The Kids of Kentuck," later this year in the fall of 2018!
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION:
$135 per session BEFORE May 1st
$150 per session AFTER May 1st
**Space is limited to 18 kids per session**
Sydney Gruber is a full-time studio artist working out of Kentuck Art Center and enjoys being a part of this contemporary art renaissance. Her work embodies the philosophy of recognizing the underlying beauty of layers—the potential—with immense attention to detail and depth play within the hues to encourage joy. She creates mostly abstract meditation paintings both large and small but also identifies as an alchemy artist rejuvenating home décor by giving them new life. Through organized chaos and captured energy, Sydney invites you into her world of motion and emotion through the mirror of art and hopes to bring a warm personal touch to your home.
Sydney's teaching experience includes the original Imagination & Enrichment Summer Sessions hosted at Kentuck Art Center during the summer of 2017 as well as three years with the Kentuck Artists in the School program that accompanies that annual festival. Moreover, Sydney has worked with students from Verner Elementary, Matthews Elementary, and Westwood Elementary to develop the arts within this communities' schools.
